There's No Business Like Show Business

Hollywood has most definitely come a long way since1923 when the Hollywood sign was built. Since then there have been several landmarks each decade that have helped mold and define Hollywood, and helped it become what it is today.
1930’s- The first color film was made, setting a huge precedent for films to come.

1940’s- The Wizard of Oz captured hearts of several people, and Judy Garland made her mark on the industry.

1950’s- Big Screen goes small when Gene Autry takes his talents to a television series. The effect of this can most certainly be seen in society today.

1960’s- Movie rating began in the 60’s; who would have thought that a career would be made out of it? Hollywood’s smash hit Bonnie and  Clyde releases and begins to effect fashion trends,  reflecting Hollywood’s heavy influence, which will only get heavier with time.

1970’s- Hollywood’s “old time glamour and glory” is restored by the city of Los Angeles.

1980’s- President Ronald Reagan becomes the first movie star who is elected into office, yet again, proving the power of Hollywood.

1990’s-Audience begin to spend even more money on Hollywood as movie rentals become popular.

The New Millennium- Hollywood is extremely popular, and new technology is only boosting its popularity and income.

Clearly, Hollywood has had an upward spiral since the 1900’s; will it stay that way? Or will piracy and the Internet ruin it? Or is the world to engrossed in Hollywood’s glamour?
